About Me - Opening Up Your Mind; Its Fun!

Hi there,

I'm sure you're wondering much more about what this is and what it feels like, so I'll keep my introduction brief ;)

I will not claim to be a professional on the matter; in fact, I will not even bother telling you my age (As if age equates to wisdom - yeesh! Another time), nor do I claim to be a writer; not professionally, anyway. So bear with me on my errors; I simply cannot afford an editor! And, Welcome! You are officially on your way to opening up your mind and possibly being shocked. Get ready to absorb the unfiltered, extremely unconventional, thought jumbles from someone just wondering how the heck more people can't see it like this! It all begins with opening up your mind...

One of the hardest things I had to learn in my journey toward becoming a better person was the idea of Radical Acceptance. Which, in a nutshell, basically boils down to fully accepting things as they are. Sounds simple, it is not. It comes from the notion that our suffering does not come directly from pain, but our attachment to pain. It's the brutal process of facing everything with a calm attitude that says, "Shit just happens and there's not much I can do because I'm just a speck of dust in the whole ass universe," and in that moment, let it go. It's a way to regulate your emotions so they don't control your behavior. It's incredibly powerful.

What does this have to do with opening up your mind? Don't, worry; we've arrived. I think we can all agree that we have a certain level of emotion attached to the way we feel about certain things that become our "morals" or "values". A certain stubbornness driven by this emotion. Let go of the emotion, and open up your mind. Radically accept that you are no more important than the next speck of dust trotting down the sidewalk, and how little you actually truly know for certain. I mean for sure like who your mother is. That's really all we know for certain from the start, right?

The rest, someone literally made-up. At some point in time some dude (typically a male who gets credited in literature) said something slightly inspiring and got enough people to believe him because - who knows! - he had charisma and was extremely good-looking. Isn't that the recipe? And now, still, today, we fucking listen to that guy! And it happens over and over and over and now it's 2022 and we're still practicing weird shit because some patriarchy-driven rise to power came about for the towns little golden boy. That' just not good enough for me. So, what?

Just imagine for a moment that we didn't take these people seriously. Think back on who you were and what brought you shame. Why? Let's get rid of it be re-writing what's "good" and what's "normal". It's about time!
