Oh, Heaven, how I've dreamed of you in my youth! Growing up Catholic, my vision of the Afterlife very much included a Heaven and a Hell both ruled by men. It is just so unlike me to hold this belief system still. Anywhere that could be considered "Divine" is definitely ruled by women if we had to put a gender on it.
In all honesty, if there is a higher being out there, I highly doubt that higher being looks anything like us. Sure, this being may be made up of stardust like we are, but beyond that, do you really think we'd be able to absorb what was before us if this higher being did present itself? I have to imagine this Divine being as something completely out of this world and almost impossible to comprehend. Humans have a complete inability to comprehend "God." So, if you think you know them? You're probably being extremely arrogant or at the very least ignorant.
I've touched on this previously, but to reiterate, I believe in a kind of reincarnation. I'm not sure I believe we change forms - I believe we continue to be put into human vessels - but I do believe each of our souls has been through many lives. I believe we've all existed in the cosmos since the beginning of time. The Big Bang. And no, this is not orchestrated by anyone whatsoever. We are all elements to the universe born out of immense amounts of energy. What we are is energy. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. Therefore, I believe we exist infinitely and Earth may be a stop for us along our soul life path but it has limits. So, our energy keeps being shot back into it once it has left. And the cycle repeats.
I am not sure which human life number I'm on, and I suppose it doesn't really matter. I think it would be unwise and counterproductive to keep track of how many shots at life it takes for us to reach our higher selves. Because, I believe, only then can you move into the Great Beyond. It's like college. Sure, the outline is 4 years, but there are just too many special souls on this planet to put into a box like that. It takes all of us our own amount of time, and that's okay! Same thing with your life cycles, who cares what number you're on. I highly doubt anyone gets it right their first time through.
Arriving at the point, so what awaits us in The Great Beyond? I've always subscribed to you being the artist of your own life. Our experiences can be whittled down to our choices. And just as in life, the Afterlife, is the product of our own beliefs, ideas, and values. Do you subscribe to a certain religion where all your ideas about spirituality were decided for you eons before you were born? It includes a heaven where all your family is waiting for you? That will be your afterlife.
For me, I imagine I'll be somewhere similar to Earth in that there are mountains and beaches abound. I will experience all 4 seasons for as long as I want. I will be a fairy on land living in the trees and a mermaid in the sea ruling over everyone. I have the ability to invite family into my Afterlife, but they do not exist there naturally. Instead, I am surrounded by all the lovers I've ever had over my many different lives. My soulmates.
So, make it up! Do you also wish to be a fairy/mermaid princess surrounded by all her lovers? I am sure in your Afterlife, you will be.
